What is life without a laugh?

A text of inspired creativity which I will always be thankful for reading is Douglas Adams’ The Meaning of Liff.

In honour of that seminal classic, here are some more words which, while not based on place-names in the Adamsean style, I propose might be reviewed for inclusion in the next OED:

  • instamatically: meaning both automatically and instantly.
  • sellotongue: that moment when wrapping up a gift where a part of the sticky-tape becomes detached from the roll and ends up stuck to your most dexterous organ.
  • monostril: that unfortunate feature on the face of someone who has a rather serious cocaine habit.
  • erformance: where performance errs on the side of under-performance.

More definitions will be published as soon as possible.
